About the Photographer
I'm Don Cornelius, owner and photographer at Highdesert Photography. I have been a professional photographer since 1970 with 4 years in the Marine Corps as a combat photographer. After the Marine Corps, I was an aerial photographer flying in the back seat of tactical naval jets photographing missiles and bombs, as well as special and experimental aircraft in flight.
After 15 years in the back seat, I went down to the ground and used an assortment of highly specialized cameras to photograph the aircraft and missiles from the ground.
Now, with a more relaxed approach and slower shutter speeds, I do portrait and event photography in and around the High Desert area of California, which includes Ridgecrest, China Lake, Edwards AFB, Mojave and Trona. 
Highdesert Photography has recently added a portrait studio, large enough to photograph an entire family. Portraits are offered by appointment only. I am happy to be there on site for the photography needs of your big event, be it your wedding, a family reunion or your company party. Pricing for these events and other services is available here.
I have also specialized in sports and action photography. With over 35 years of photographic experience, I am dedicated to capturing the finest in action and sports photography, particularly in equestrian, moto-cross racing, bicycle racing, as well as other individual sporting events. Don't let a sporting event go by without contacting me first if you want to have more than just memories at the end of the day; you'll be glad you did when you see a professionally shot photograph on your mantle next to your trophy!
When I am shooting for Highdesert Photography, the action will be a "little bit slower" than missiles, however, I will strive in bringing you the highest photographic quality possible whether in a portrait or during your special event.
